Assam: Coronavirus scare in Kaziranga, foreign tourists asked to report for screening

GUWAHATI/KAZIRANGA: The Coronavirus disease scare has been terrorising the people of Kaziranga. The Golaghat district administration is on high alert after receiving a notification from the central government that restricts tourists from seven countries entering Kaziranga National Park. The countries whose tourists have been restricted are China, Germany, Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy. Any tourists found from these countries will be immediately sent to the isolation ward set up at Kaziranga.

Many tourists from different countries are still staying in various private and government guest houses and hotels in Kaziranga. Recently, the Golaghat district administration set up an isolation ward at Kohora Model Hospital. The Golaghat district administration has been asking the foreign tourists to report for check up. A Temperature Scanning Gun has been deployed for the first time at the Kohora Model Hospital to screen tourists and those suspected.
