GUWAHATI: Showing an example of its excellent healthcare and government’s robust efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, Assam has conducted 55,862 COVID-19 tests so far.
“In a strong testimony to excellent team work and our steely resolve to do the best in a crisis like #COVID19, I am humbled to share that #Assam has carried out 55862 tests so far,” tweeted Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He also stated that the Assam’s number is higher than Kerala’s (52771), a state known for its healthcare excellence.
Till May 23, 15,807 COVID-19 tests have been conducted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). On the other hand, 6334 tests at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), 5140 at Silchar Medical College (SMCH), 2502 at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) at Dibrugarh, 6716 at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH), 12096 at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) at Barpeta and 7267 tests have been carried out at Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), NE at Dibrugarh.
