Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated Cath Lab at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for the people of Barak Vallery.
An amount of Rs 5.39 crores was sanctioned and the construction began in the month of October in 2021 which now stands complete today. The cath lab with facilities such as angioplasty will greatly benefit cardiac patients.
Taking to Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Glad to dedicate the services of Cath Lab in the Dept of Cardiology, Silchar Medical College Hospital, to the people of Barak Valley. Set up at a cost of Rs 5.39 crore and with facilities such as angioplasty, the lab will greatly benefit cardiac patients.”

The lab has been built by a team of engineers and technicians from Philips Healthcare, a Dutch multinational conglomerate. While this development and operation can surely save the lives of patients from the three districts of Barak Valley and other parts of North East.
