Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone of Shree Shankardeva Namghar and Socio-Cultural Centre at Poshari and Twre village of Karjat area of Raigarh district in Maharashtra on Friday.
The project is being implemented under the aegis of the people of the village and with the help of the Assamese community living in Maharashtra.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarma appreciated the initiative and said that it is only through such efforts that Assamese culture will keep shining gloriously in the world.

The Chief Minister also assured all cooperation including financial assistance for the construction of the Namghar from the state government.
CM Sarma also announced to build a temple of Maa Kamakhya near the Namghar.
