Guwahati: Former Congress leader and Mariani’s ex MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi filed his nomination on Friday for Mariani in a hope of to win from the same constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate at the upcoming Assam assembly by-election slated on October 30.
Kurmi was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, MoS Rameswar Teli, State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, State Minister of Water Resources Pijush Hazarika and a few other ministers.
Taking to the Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Pleased to have joined @BJP4Assam candidate @RKurmiOfficial for his nomination filing for Mariani bye-election. MoS @Rameswar_Teli ; Mins @ATULBORA2, @Pijush_hazarika, @sanjoykishan1; MP @KamakhyaTasa; Dist BJP President Kamakhya Mohan Das were also present Best wishes (sic).”\
