Assam By-Polls: CM Sarma Campaigns for Phanidhar Talukdar at Bhabanipur

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday participated in a campaign rally for BJP candidate Phanidhar Takukdar in Bhabanipur.

CM Sarma took part in the election rally at Gati Shanti Mandir Raas ground and urged the people to vote for Phanidhar Talukdar.

CM Sarma was accompanied by BTR chief Pramod Bodo, Minister UG Brahma, MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah and MLA Hemanga Thakuria.

While addressing the rally CM Sarma said that peace prevails in BTR today and development gets a new momentum due to unprecedented pro-people and public welfare initiatives of the BJP led alliance government.

The CM also announced government assistance to Bathou temple. He also announced that an auditorium will be built in the memory of Uttam Kherkatari. He also promised roads and ensured that the erosion problem in Pahumara will be tackled.

Dr. Sarma added, “Science and Commerce branches will be started from April in Salbari College. Thirty bedded hospital will be opened in Mainao Market. A Nursing College will be established in BTR’s Ruaphi.”

“Our government will include 7000 more beneficiaries under Orunodoi scheme at Bhabanipur LAC and a 30 bedded hospital will be set up. A nursing training institute, a stadium and a handloom production centre will also be set up, besides food processing unit or cold storage to benefit farmers. Dredging of Pohumora river will be done to prevent flood & erosion. We will also take steps for development of Shanti Mandir and Shanti Ram Mandir, Ananda Bazar apart from building a new auditorium and Ranga Manch at Saudarvitha. Road connecting Bhabanipur and Manas National Park will also be improved. Assistance would be provided for infra dvpt of Bathou Mandirs premises” said CM Sarma.
