Assam: Another prime accused of Sanatan Deka murder arrested

GUWAHATI: Another accused in the murder of Sanatan Deka, a vegetable seller at Hajo in Kamrup district in Assam has been arrested. The accused has been identified as Abdul Jalil.

A court has sent all the three accused to 6-day police custody. On the other hand, two other accused—Firjahan Ali and Khabir Ali are still absconding.

Sanatan Deka, a vegetable vendor from Tetelia area was beaten to death by five men after his bicycle hit their vehicle at Monakuchi, Hajo in Kamrup district.

Sanatan Deka was riding his bicycle when he accidentally hit a vehicle driven by Jalil Ali.

Soon after, Jalil Ali and his four other friends engaged in an argument with Deka and started beating-up the vendor.

Later seriously-injured Sanatan Deka was taken to a nearby hospital by some local people. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
