Guwahati: Setting another record, the Assam health department has conducted 59,064 COVID-19 tests on Tuesday. So far, this is the highest number of tests done in a single day in the State.
Taking to Twitter, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “In pursuit of our commitment to contain COVID 19 infections in our state, today we have completed 59,064 number of tests. By far, this is the highest number of tests we have achieved in a single day. For the next ten days, we will continue with massive testing across the state.”
The health department earlier set a target of 50 thousand tests in Assam from Tuesday. However it has surpassed its target on the very first day of the massive testing campaign.
