Assam: 36 People died of COVID-19 in last 48 hours

Guwahati: A total of Thirty-six people succumbed to COVID-19 in Assam in the past two days.

On Thursday, 18 more people succumb to the virus in the State, taking the toll to 414, while the state’s tally climbed to 1,35,805 with 2,739 fresh cases, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The deceased have been identified as  Ranjit Gogoi from Charaideo, Horihor Klita from Lakhimpur, Debabala Hazarika from Lakhimpur, Rajen Hazarika of Kamrup (Metro), Dhaneswar Thakuria of Kamrup, Maniram Bora of Baksa, Bijoy Deka of Kamrup (Metro), Chandrakanta Barman of Kamrup, Shreya Ghosh (14) of Nagaon, Gitanjali Bora of Golaghat, Anu Hazarika of Jorhat, Rebo Orang of Golaghat, Gopal Borthakur of Jorhat, Krishna Mohan Das of Hailakandi, Pradip Kumar Roy of Hailakandi, Rina Pathak of Cachar, Gajen Das of Barpeta and Sanjib Phukan of Dibrugarh.

The mortality rate in the state is currently 0.29 per cent.

The recovery rate in the state is currently at 77.40 percent, the minister said adding that 1,01,239 COVID-19 patients have been cured of the disease so far.
