GUWAHATI: Assam has recorded 1,879 fresh COVID-19 cases out of the 28,760 tests conducted in the state on Monday. The positivity rate of the day was 6.55 per cent. With the addition of these new cases, the count has reached 92,619, mentioned health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.
On the other hand, 2,190 patients were discharged from hospitals and COVID-19 care centres in Assam after their recovery from the infection.
“Gratifying that number of recovered patients in Assam is more than 3.5 times the number of active patients,” Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.
So far, total 73,090 patients have recovered from the disease.
Currently, there are 19,274 active cases in Assam. Meanwhile, death toll in the state reached 252 with the ten more fatalities on Monday.
