GUWAHATI: Amid spike of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, neighbouring state Arunachal Pradesh has banned the entry of people from Assam. Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district administration which shares border with Assam has restricted the entry of the people from Assam.
Deputy commissioner(DC) Chesta Yadav of Longding issued an order on Friday prohibiting unauthorized entry of labourers, construction workers, businessmen and salesman into the district as a preventive measure against COVID-19. The order also restricted inter-state persons without valid movement pass and further added that no movement pass would be issued to any individual for travel to Assam and back except on ground of medical emergencies.
However, movement of essential services would be allowed for which movement pass need to be obtained from the DC’s office, the order added.
