ARUNACHAL PRADESH: Nassum Nyari Camdir has been judged the winner of Miss Nirjuli Nyokum at 29th Nyokum Yullo Festival.
A beauty pageant competition was organized at the ‘Nyokum Yullo Fest’, which is considered as the biggest festival of the Nyishi tribe in Arunachal Pradesh. The word Nyokum has been derived from the combination of two words – Nyok means land (earth) and Kum means collectiveness or togetherness. It was the 29th edition of the Festival which started on February 16.
As many as 13 contestants participated in the Beauty pageant wherein 4 contestants were awarded different titles. Nassum Nyari Camdir won the Miss Nirjuli Nyokum 2020 title.
“Right now I am very excited and I am overwhelmed. Actually I was not ready to participate in the competition but my brother and sister-in-law encouraged me to take part in this competition,” said the winner Nassum Nyari Camdir.
