Anup Chetia appeals Paresh Baruah to join peace talks

GUWAHATI: Pro-talks ULFA leader Anup Chetia has appealed commander-in-chief of United Liberation Front of Assam(I) o join the peace talks with the Government of India.

Anup Chetia told newsmen that like all the four factions of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) have come forward to sign the Bodo Peace Accord and celebrated Vijay Utsav on February 7 at Kokrajhar, all the groups of ULFA should take part in the talks and sign an accord.

Chetia expressed hope that like the Bodos, all the factions of ULFA will be united to sign an agreement with the government.

On the other hand, attending Bodoland Day celebration on Monday at Kokrajhar, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal also urged ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah to join the peace process.
