Anger and outrage across Assam after large-scale anomalies came to light during the combined competitive examination (CCE) held on Sunday for various posts in the Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) department.

While at many examination centres the written test that was scheduled to have begun at 1:30 pm began as late as 4 in the evening, there were also reports of question paper leaks and candidates using mobile phones at many centres across Assam.

There was total chaos at the exam centre at Rangia HS School where the examination began late due to shortage of question papers. Reports of question paper leak have also come in from various places.

Photographs of candidates using mobile phones during the examination went viral in the social media with many candidates questioning as to why officials could not hold the recruitment test properly and in a disciplined manner. There have also been demands for re-examination by some sections of the candidates in the wake of the anomalies.

However, amid all the chaos and anger, Assam P&RD minister Naba Doley is yet to come out with a statement as to how such large-scale anomalies could have taken place.
