GUWAHATI: Amid COVID19 crisis and ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown many people and organisations have come forward to help the poor and needy. Responding to prime minister Narendra Modi and Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s call Anchal, a Guwahati-based NGO has taken an initiative to help the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in the city.
In collaboration with Muthoot Finance, a leading financial company and Assam Police, Anchal distributed rice, dal, potato, atta, mustard oil, salt and toilet soaps among 250 families in Bonda Amgaon, Noonmati Ananda Nagar and Vrindavan Garden areas. The families expressed their gratitude to Anchal, Muthoot Finance and Assam Police for their helping hand at this hour of crisis.
