GUWAHATI: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad is against forming of new political party in the state, clarified AJYCP general secretary Palash Changmai.

Speaking to media persons in Guwahati, Changmai said, “AJYCP is not planning to form a new political party and will not join active politics. We will retain our non-political character.”

As some organisations are exploring options to form a new political party in the backdrop of ongoing anti-Citizenship Amendment Act movement in Assam, the general secretary of AJYCP said, “Our main aim is to repeal CAA. We will face the wrath of the people if we go to implement the decision of the AASU in terms of forming a new political party. Our stand will remain anti-BJP. People will decide the alternative to BJP.”
