GUWAHATI: After Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has been allotted ‘Ship’ as its party symbol, Assam State BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass has claimed that the newly-floated party would sink like the Titanic.
Dass said the image of ship reminds people of the Titanic that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912. He predicted that the AJP would also meet the same fate.
“Though the symbol is given by the Election Commission, it creates impressions among the people. The lotus is regarded as sacred. But ‘Ship’ always reminds people of the Titanic. So, people are afraid if it sinks in the same way,” Dass reacted.
