GUWAHATI: Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has termed All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) as the minor partner of his party. The AIUDF is a part of Congress-led grand alliance for the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati on Monday, Nagaon MP Bordoloi said that AIUDF will never be a major partner in the Congress-led alliance.
“AIUDF is a minor partner. They will never be the major partner. The alliance will be under the leadership of Congress,” said the Congress leader.
Bordoloi said that Congress has decided to draw a ‘Lakshman Rekha’ for its alliance partners.
“We have decided to draw a ‘Lakshman Rekha’. This alliance will be based on ‘Common Minimum Programme’. Congress will never tolerate any communal statement from the AIUDF also,” he added.
