AGP targeting 85 assembly seats

GUWAHATI: Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has been aiming at 85 seats in the upcoming assembly elections in 2021. The regional party in Assam has decided to strengthen its public relations strategies in 85 constituencies of the State.

In a meeting on Wednesday chaired by AGP president Atul Bora, the party decided to resort to social media strategies to reach out to the citizens in 85 constituencies. The party will form IT cells in these constituencies to spread its visions among the public.

“With changing times, AGP has decided to use social media extensively. Now the party has decided to reach out to the public through social media,” said Bora.

Significantly, minister Keshab Mahant has been endowed with the responsibility of IT cell in Barhampur constituency which is represented by former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. Prabin Hazarika will look after the IT cells in Lakhimpur and Tezpur represented respectively by Utpal Dutta and Brindaban Goswami. On the other hand, former MLA Bhupen Ray has been given charge of Patacharkuchi constituency. Pabindra Deka is the legislator of Patacharkuchi.

However, the charges of constituencies under legislators Satyabrat Kalita, Naren Sonowal and Renupoma Rajkhowa have not been given to other party leaders.
