Guwahati: Noted Bollywood actor Adil Hussain from Assam wins the best actor award for his film ‘Pareeksha’ at ‘Indo-German’ Film Week in Berlin on Wednesday.

Taking to his Twitter the actor himself shared the news.

Hussain won the award for his mesmerizing acting in film ‘Pareeksha’ for his character of ‘Bucchi Paswan’.

Based on a real-life story, Pareeksha is about a rickshaw puller in Bihar whose desire to see his son attend the city’s best English-medium private school, surmounts all else.

Hussaain Bucchi Paswan’ aces his character. The desperation to get out of the hell called poverty is most visible in his eyes.

Written and directed by Prakash Jha, the film holds a steady course as it parlays this familiar underdog-fighting-the-odds narrative into a moving, pointed, crisply edited melodrama.

Few days back, Hussain also shared that he is in cloud nine as Delhi Crime which starred him, along with Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal and Rajesh Tailang in lead roles, has been nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2020. The investigative drama series is a contender for the Best Drama Series category.
