GUWAHATI: After signing the Bodo Peace Accord, the signatories—All Bodo Students’ Union, all the four factions of National Democratic Front of Bodoland and United Bodo People’s Organization are planning to join electoral politics.

Talking to reporters, ABSU president Pramod Bodo said, “People want the signatories of the accord to take the responsibility of BTC administration. Besides the government, it is the responsibility of the signatories to look into whether the clauses of the accord are implemented or not. Therefore, people want us to join politics.”

Bodo said that they will take their political decisions after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kokrajhar visit on February 7. All the signatories will hold political convention within February to decide their future course of action.

Meanwhile, it is not yet clear whether these organisations will form separate political parties or contest elections under the same umbrella.
