There seems to be no let-up for the common man as fuel prices continue to rise with oil companies hiking prices of petrol and diesel for the 15th straight day. According to Indian Oil Corporation website (https://www.iocl.com), petrol price in Guwahati today stood at Rs 80.49/litre while consumers in the Assam capital will have to spend Rs 72.22 today for a litre of diesel.

While a litre of petrol became dearer by 16 paise today (price of petrol in Guwahati was Rs 80.33 a litre on Sunday), the corresponding hike for a litre of diesel today has been 12 paise (Rs 72.10 yesterday).

Meanwhile, groups and organizations and the common people have flayed the government for failing to contain rising fuel prices. Protests and demonstrations were carried out at many places with protesters decrying the government’s silence over rising fuel prices.
