GUWAHATI: ‘Jokers’, a non-profit organisation from Chirang district of lower Assam performed a street play at the Bijni town on Wednesday to raise awareness on voting. The play was staged under the aegis of district election officer, Bijni and Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) cell.
The Jokers activists staged the street play at several locations of the town. They urged the people to cast their valuable votes to strengthen the democracy of the country.
Besides the street play, the non-profit organisation resorted to wall paintings and pamphlet distribution to spread voting awareness.
