“I am not dreaded, do I look one”, says NDFB-S supremo Songbijit

GUWAHATI: NDFB-S ex-Supremo Songbijit in a ceremony held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati laid down arms in presence of Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and other dignitaries of the state.

When asked by a reporter, how a dreaded militant like him will adjust to a city environment after staying in forests for years, angrily the ex-NDFB-S supremo replied I am not dreaded, do I look one? “I hope the Indian Government will support us. We took this decision for the public, for the betterment of the society and our people,” said Songbijit.

“I will have to face a lot of things now. Earlier, I was in a different environment as I used to stay in forests now I will be in a new environment. I request the people of Assam to help me. So, that our issues are resolved. We will further talk with the Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday(25 February),” he added.

It is to be mentioned that a total of 1,040 members of five militant outfits- PDCK, KNLF, KPLT, KLF and UPLA that were operating in the hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong joined the mainstream by laying down arms at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday held in Guwahati.
