GUWAHATI: A 108-ambulance caught fire in the Kahilipara area in Guwahati on Tuesday morning while a patient was being taken to the hospital.
According to sources, the fire started due to some mechanical fault in the vehicle. The ambulance was totally destroyed in the fire but the driver and patient escaped unharmed.
“The Driver and a patient were present in the ambulance when the fire started. The fire tenders reached the spot immediately and doused the fire. No one was injured in the incident,” said Himangshu Das, A.C.P. Dispur Police Station.
