JCB AADYA distributes sanitary pads in Guwahati on 72nd Republic Day

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of India’s 72nd Republic Day, JCB Industries from Guwahati celebrated womanhood and distributed ‘Aadya’ sanitary pads in various locations in and around Guwahati. The drive was carried out by two teams of JCBI. The first team distributed Aadya sanitary napkins to students of different colleges and institutes in Guwahati. The second team distributed the pads to residents of paying guest houses and hostels across Guwahati.

Places where the free pads were distributed include:

· Gauhati Medical College and Hospital – Girls hostel number 3, number 7 and hostel number 5

· B Barooah Cancer Institute

· Asiana Girls Hostel

· Sangrilla Girls Hostel

· Subhibhan Girls Hostel,

· Regional Dental College

· GIMT College hostel

· Ayurvedic Hospital

· Ayurvedic College hostel

· Shishu Kalyan Jalukbari

· SOS Village Guwahati

· Lalit Chandra Bharali College hostel

· Appayan PG

· Cotton College

· USTM

· Two locations at Jalukbari and Azara

 

 

“We started the drive in the morning from the Pandu area in Guwahati where we distributed almost 105 packets (each contain 6 pads). After that, we went to LCB College and distributed around 50 packets. We also visited Handique College and distributed the pads. We distributed a total of 2475 packets in 33 places in Guwahati,” Dhruba Jyoti Sarma of JCB Industries told News Live.

“People liked the initiative especially because it is a local product and it is manufactured in Assam. We received a positive response from people,” added Sarma.

 

 

“The distribution of 2475 packets of sanitary pads by JCB AADYA among the youth will help promote health awareness across the youth,” said a student.

 

 

Earlier, JCB Aadya had launched various initiatives like Be Bold and Independent!; Go Fearless with Aadya; Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Awareness Campaign; End The Menstruation Taboo; for menstrual hygiene among girls and women in India.
