GUWAHATI: The fire at Baghjan Oil well of the Oil India Limited (OIL) in Assam’s Tinsukia district has been finally doused informed Oil India Limited through a Twitter post on Sunday.
Oil India Limited also informed that there is no pressure in the well and it will be under observation for the next 24 hrs.
Oil India Limited Tweeted, “Baghjan blowout well successfully killed: The well has been killed with brine solution & under controll now. Fire has bn doused completely. There is no pressure in d well now & d same will b observed for 24 hrs 2 check if there is any amount of gas migration & pressure build up.”

It is to be mentioned that on May 27 this year, a blowout occurred after the well suddenly became active while OIL was carrying out workover operations in the gas-producing well Baghjan-5 under Baghjan Oilfield. The well caught fire on June 9. On June 10, two people had died in the massive fire at the mishap site.
