GUWAHATI: The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has ended its indefinite Chakka Bandh after the state government accepted the demand of allowing vehicles to ply with 100% passengers. The buses, trekkers and other vehicles will run from Friday.
The passenger vehicles have been asked not to carry passengers more than the allowed seating capacity and maintain other COVID-19 protocols like wearing of masks and making sanitizers available in the vehicles. No standing passengers will be allowed.
The AAMTA called for indefinite strike from Monday demanding doubling of fares as they were carrying 50 per cent passengers.
