GUWAHATI: The Nalbari Police on Sunday night arrested senior Congress leader Atab Ali in connection with the Assam Police SI Examination scam.
The Nalbari Police launched an operation in Bajali, Bhabanipur, Majgaon area and successfully nabbed the accused from Barpeta road at around 02:00 AM.
According to sources, Atab Ali, the senior Congress leader who is also the secretary of the RTI Cell has contact with the other accused in the Assam Police SI recruitment scam. Many other Congress leaders are also suspected to be involved in the incident.
The Assam Police team recovered an admit card of the Assam Police SI recruitment test from his residence.
Atab Ali is currently held by Nalbari Police and they are questioning him regarding the matter.
