GUWAHATI: The Assam state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled Diban Deka as its primary member after Deka had surrendered to Assam Police on Wednesday. Deka is one of the prime accused in Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam.
Diban Deka who was on the run since last 10 days surrendered before Patacharkuchi Police in Bajali district of Assam at around 11:45 PM and was later brought to 4th APBN in Kahlipara in Guwahati.
CID questioned Diban Deka on September 20 and after that he was on the run. A special police team headed by Assam ADGP(Law and Order) GP Singh brought the accused from Patacharkuchi to Guwahati.
A team of CID and Crime Branch is currently interrogating Diban at a Special Branch lockup of Assam Police in Guwahati.
