GUWAHATI: The investigation into the Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam has revealed many sensational details day by day. Not only the former deputy inspector general (DIG) Prasanta Kumar Dutta, but also many top officials of the Assam Police are reportedly on the radar of the Crime Branch and CID.
According to reports, besides several police officials, the role of the wife of a high-ranking officer is suspected. The woman prepared question papers for the test.
Meanwhile, Pradeep Kumar, chairman of the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam resigned from his position taking moral responsibilities for the anomalies. It may be noted that former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Kumar was involved in many controversial activities during his tenure in 1990s.
