GUWAHATI: Assam’s former CM Tarun Gogoi, who is undergoing treatment after testing positive for Coronavirus disease had a sudden fall in oxygen saturation and it came down to 88 per cent at around 11:30 PM on Monday. Tarun Gogoi is currently admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati.
Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma informed, “He is in his room. At around 11PM Tarun Gogoi’s oxygen level came down to 88, but his condition is not critical. Gogoi was also given blood plasma immediately.”

Dr. Sarma said that doctors supervising Gogoi had decided to administer a unit of plasma and two liters of oxygen, following which his oxygen saturation is maintained between 96 to 97 per cent.
“At around 11:30 PM, Tarun Gogoi’s oxygen saturation came down to 88. We the team of doctors checked him and decided to give him plasma. Now saturation is now maintained at 96 in two litres of oxygen,”said a doctor on Monday night.
