GUWAHATI: As many as 19 journalists in Guwahati who had recovered from COVID-19 came forward to donate plasma at a plasma donation camp organised by the Guwahati Press Club in association with National Health Mission (NHM), Assam on Monday. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the plasma donation camp held at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Attending the event, minister Sarma expressed his gratitude to all the plasma donors as well as the Guwahati Press Club for their noble effort in the fight against COVID-19.
“Today is the day of happiness for us. Though plasma banks have been set up in other states, but this is the first instance of the journalists in the country coming forward to donate plasma. Therefore, I would like to thank my journalist friends,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
