BSF Guwahati Frontier: 110 cattle seized along Indo-Bangladesh border

Guwahati: Acting on tip-off, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) deployed on Indo-Bangladesh international border under Guwahati Frontier rescued 110 cattle heads during special operations conducted in bordering areas of South Salamara and Dhubri districts of Assam and Coochbehar in West Bengal. The cattle heads were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh taking advantage of flood condition in the border areas.

“Keeping in view the vulnerability of border, heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes,” stated in a press release issued by the public relations officer (PRO) of BSF Guwahati Frontier.
