GUWAHATI: Assam Police has registered a total of 823 COVID-19 cases till July 18, stated GP Singh, additional director general of police (ADGP) for law and order in a tweet.
Singh mentioned that so far 444 police personnel have recovered from the infection. While 814 personnel are under quarantine, 29 cops have already joined the duty.
Assam Police has lost one havildar to the virus who was infected in the line of duty.
Havildar Hareswar Nath who was tested positive for COVID-19 on July 7 succumbed to the infection at IIT-Guwahati COVID-19 Care Centre on July 10.
