GUWAHATI: A man who was in a relief camp after he had lost all his belongings in the Baghjan oil well fire in Assam’s Tinsukia district allegedly committed suicide by drinking pesticide.
The man has been identified as Sukleswar Neog. According to reports, he was under severe depression.
Though he was shifted to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh under serious condition, the man breathed his last at the hospital.
Following the incident, the agitated residents of Baghjan blocked the road which leads to the oil well.
They demanded adequate compensation to all the victims in the Baghjan fire.
