Assam: Kaziranga National Park to remain open for 10 months

GUWAHATI: Kaziranga National Park in Assam will remain open for 10 months in a year after the COVID-19 crisis is over. The authorities of the national park have decided to keep it open to the tourists for 10 months of the year, informed P Sivakumar, director of Kaziranga National Park.

Sivakumar informed media persons that Kaziranga will remain open from September to June every year. Earlier the park was kept open for eight months for the tourists. He stated that 313 hectare area has been added to the national park. The new area was recovered from the encroachers after an eviction drive was carried out four years ago.

Kaziranga National Park in Assam is known for world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses.
