Himanta Biswa Sarma speaks to Assam Cancer patients stuck in Mumbai

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday spoke to 95 cancer patients from Assam who are now stuck at Assam Bhawan in Mumbai amid ongoing nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Minister Sarma had a video conference with the patients and assured the government’s fullest support for them.

Interacting with the patients, minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government will make all the necessary arrangements related to their treatment after their return to Assam. He asked the cancer patients and their families not to take stress.

“Our prayers are with the 95 cancer patients stuck at Assam Bhawan in Mumbai. To reassure Govt’s full commitment, I, MoS @Pijush_hazarika & PS @samirsinha69 held VC with them and assured our fullest support in this trying moment. We shall do everything possible for their comfort,” tweeted Sarma.

Along with Dr. Sarma, minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika and principal secretary to the health department Samir Sinha also took part in the video conference.
