GUWAHATI: “Everyone doesn’t need to wear a face mask. A person who is coughing should wear it. It is not mandatory for all,” said Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna today.
Addressing a presser in Guwahati, Sanjay Krishna told newsmen that it was not necessary for all to wear a face mask all the time.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), if a person is healthy, he/she only needs to wear a mask if the person is taking care of someone with suspected 2019-nCoV infection. The WHO has advised to wear a mask if a person is coughing or sneezing.
Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
