GUWAHATI: Amid talks about the alliance between Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Congress MLA from Mariani Rupjyoti Kurmi has said that the grand old party would form government on its own in Assam in 2021.
“Congress will form government alone that too with more than 100 MLAs. There is no alliance with AIUDF. I believe that we will contest elections in 2021 alone,” Kurmi expressed his confidence today.
Meanwhile, reacting to Rupjyoti Kurmi’s remarks, former chief minister Tarun Gogoi said, “It is an open secret of our alliance with AIUDF. Kurmi has not opposed the alliance in the party. The decision has been taken unanimously. Not a single MLA has opposed the decision.”
