GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest Bododland Territorial Council (BTC) election alone which is scheduled to be held on April 4. The decision was announced by Assam State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Wednesday.
Attending a party meeting at Goreswar, Dass denied any possibility of a pre-poll alliance with its current ally Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), “We will contest BTC election alone. After the election, we will discuss with whom we have to from the government.”
Ranjeet Kumar Dass also announced that BJP will contest in all the 40 constituencies of BTC.
Meanwhile, Mangaldai MP Dilip Saikia said, “BJP will be the number one party in BTC. We will discuss the alliance or any kind of understanding after the election.”
