GUWAHATI: An influential MLA of Assam’s Congress will join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) within a few days, said Assam finance, education and health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today.
“Within a few days an important MLA of Congress will join BJP. Some other Congress MLAs will also join soon,” Sarma said.
However he said that this development was not related with upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Assam.
“If Congress and AIUDF contest Rajya Sabha elections together, they will get the third seat. It is clear, there is no twist in the story,” minister Sarma added.
