GUWAHATI: The alliance between Congress and Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in Rajya Sabha elections in Assam will help Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to achieve its target of 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections, said BJP MLA Prasanta Phukan.
“I have predicted that this alliance will incur losses to both the parties in the assembly elections in 2021,” said BJP legislator representing Dibrugarh. He claimed that it will help BJP in its ‘Mission 100.’
Phukan said that Congress and AIUDF had been maintaining cordiality for a long period of time.
“The alliance in Rajya Sabha elections has proved their long-time relationship,” he added.
The senior BJP leader also alleged that anti-CAA movement in Assam was politically motivated.
