GUWAHATI: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council will soon carry out eviction drives in different parts of Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts where suspected citizens illegally encroached government land.
The decision was taken at a meeting held on Monday at the guest house of Soil Conservation Department of Karbi Anglong. The meeting was attended by chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang and Lok Sabha MP Horen Singh Bey.
“We have decided to carry out eviction drives. We have to make surveys before that,” said Tuliram Ronghang.
It has been alleged that many areas of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council have been encroached by some people with suspected citizenship.
