GUWAHATI: As Assam finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced in his budget speech on Friday that sprinter Hima Das would be offered the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Hima has expressed her gratitude to chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the offer.
The athlete known as ‘Dhing Express’ took to Twitter to thank CM Sonowal and finance minister Sarma.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to the honourable chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal sir and the honourable finance minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma sir for having offering me the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in recognition of my achievements and motivating me and countless budding sportspersons to strive for medal winning performance,” Hima tweeted.
