Guwahati: Singing sensation Zubeen Garg came forward in support of the Rapido-bike taxi service and urged the government to hold talks and resolve the matter as soon as possible after Assam Transport department suspended the Rapido-bike taxi service in Guwahati.
“I am requesting the government, whatever the problem is, please resolve it soon. I also urge the government not to deprive them of their services. The government should hold talks with the concerned authority and look into the matter and come up with a solution as soon as possible,” said Garg.
Hundreds of Rapido bike-taxi riders protested in AEI Playground, Chandmari on Sunday against the suspension of Rapido service in Assam.
Transport department on Saturday sealed the Rapido office in Jonali, Guwahati and suspended services of Rapido as they were found to be operating without due permission.
Many citizens of the city have expressed their resentment over the move.
The move has triggered anger among the citizens of Guwahati as they feel it will create severe inconvenience in their day-to-day life.
