GUWAHATI: The Higher Secondary examinations, 2020, will start from 12th February 2020.

A total of 2,34,809 students will appear for the 2020 HS exam across 772 centers in Assam. Out of these, 1,75,175 students are from Arts stream, 40,588 from Science stream, 18,178 from Commerce stream and 868 students will appear in the Vocational stream.

This session’s examinations are being conducted under strict rules and regulations and section 144 (prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area) has been imposed near the examination centers, mobile call jammers will be used at 23 sensitive centers.

AHSEC Chairman Dayananda Borgohain said that all the examination centers would be under CCTV surveillance. A cyber cell under a retired police officer of SP rank will centrally monitor the feedback from all examination centers and would be able to detect any cyber malpractice within minutes, Borgohain added.

“Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators and any kind of electronic devices are banned inside the examination hall. But even if someone manages to sneak in a mobile phone, or copies of question papers are scanned, uploaded or sent outside, the cyber cell will be able to locate it within minutes. Last year, we nabbed someone who tried to resort to something similar,” he added. Retired police officer Ejaz Hazarika will head the cyber panel.
