GUWAHATI: A group of robbers looted Rs. 26 lakh from a State Bank of India ATM located in Kalibari road, Hailakandi. The robbers used a gas-cutter machine to open the ATM cash box.
This is the second ATM robbery incident in the area within a month’s period. Earlier on 13th January, an ATM robbery incident was reported from Hailakandi area where the robbers used the same techniques to loot an ATM.
Amid tight night security measures by the Hailakandi Police, this daring robbery incident has created panic in Hailakandi’s Kalibari area. Meanwhile, Assam Police is investigating the matter.
