Two Brothers Kill Neighbour after Heated Fight: While the whole of Assam was enjoying the colourful and joyful celebration of Bohag Bihu, one family in Guwahati’s Garchuk area was struck by a heartbreaking tragedy. In a shocking and sad turn of events, two brothers allegedly killed their neighbour during a sudden argument.
The accused have been identified as Utpal Das and Navjyoti Das. According to police, both of them got into a verbal fight with their neighbour, Krishna Kalita, over a yet unknown reason. What began as a normal argument quickly turned violent. In the heat of the moment, the two brothers reportedly attacked Kalita with a sharp weapon.
Sadly, Krishna Kalita could not survive the brutal attack and died on the spot. The entire neighbourhood was shaken by the incident.
Bohag Bihu is known for unity, laughter, and celebration, but this incident has brought sadness and fear to the people living in the Garchuk area. Locals who knew Kalita expressed shock and disbelief, saying they never imagined such violence could happen in their peaceful locality.
The Garchuk police responded quickly to the case. Both Utpal and Navjyoti Das were arrested soon after the incident. Kalita’s body was sent for postmortem as part of the investigation.

At present, the reason behind the deadly fight is still not clear. Police are continuing their investigation and questioning locals to get more details.
As the rest of the city celebrates Bohag Bihu with music, food, and tradition, this unfortunate incident has left a dark shadow over one family’s life. The community now waits for justice, hoping that such violence will not repeat again.
