A win over the arch rivals which, fans said, is always special and yesterday’s victory almost cemented India’s place in the semi-finals, the icing on the cake was Virat Kohli’s 51st one-day century, a knock many would say is among his greatest considering the manner in which he paced his entire innings.
“Oh it’s a very special victory. A win over Pakistan is always special and the victory yesterday is a special one,” Partha Sarania, a die-hard cricket fan, told News Live.
“And look at the way in which Virat Kohli played. He’s a match-winner. He has proved it once again. What a match it was,” he added.
“Special… Very special. What a famous victory for the Men in Blue. Revenge for the defeat in the 2017 Champions Trophy Final has been taken. Virat’s century was master-class. And Pakistan is almost out of the tournament. What more do you want as an Indian cricket fan?” Ipshit Bharadwaj from Guwahati, who stays in Bengaluru, said.
